In the wake up to the unveiling of Trump as the presidential candidate of the Republican Party in the November presidential election by the RNC, former President Donald Trump has selected Senator Vance of Ohio as his running mate.
Vance, a one term senator from Ohio was a staunch antagonist of Trump. In one of his remarks, Vance said Trump is taking America back to a dark place. It was surprising that former President Trump settled for Vance amidst other high profile candidates.
Vance is expected to speak at the on-going RNC convention where he will formally accept his nomination to run with Trump. The RNC convention has featured prominent Republicans and is expected to feature Trump’s nominee for the United Nations and rival in the primaries, former South Carolina Governor, Nikki Haley on the last day.
Haley, who has urged her delegates to support Trump is expected to throw her weight behind Trump after the convention for the elections. Burning national issues such as immigration and the economy are uniting Republicans for the November election.
